Itaewon

In our guidebook Iteawon was referred to as "the armpit of Seoul" and, while I don't think it was as bad as the name suggests, it certainly wasn't the nicest area in Seoul. It was the only place on my entire trip so far that I felt that walking around with my camera out in the open was not a smart idea (and I've walked through numerous back alleys well past sundown!). In terms of looks it wasn't that bad, but the atmosphere was more than ugly. It filled with obnoxious foreigners and all the things I'd come to not miss from our western society.

  • Great shot -- the lighting is perfect and I love the way the wires stand out.
